What is Multiplication & Division?
Multiplication and division are two of the most fundamental arithmetic operations. They are both based on repeated addition and subtraction, respectively, and are essential for many everyday tasks.
Multiplication can be thought of as repeated addition, and division can be thought of as repeated subtraction. In both cases, the number of times the operation is performed is called the multiplier or divisor, respectively.
Both operations are important for many everyday tasks. For example, when baking a cake, one needs to multiply the number of eggs required by the number of cakes being made. When buying a new car, one needs to divide the total price by the number of monthly payments.
