Learn Lang is a browser-based conversation practice tool for people learning Spanish, English or French, with Russian and Japanese partners also listed on the site. Instead of working through drills, the learner picks an AI conversation partner and has a typed back-and-forth chat in the target language. Each partner is clearly labeled as an AI persona with a short made-up background, such as a nurse from Valencia, a bookshop manager from Bristol or an architect from Lyon, which gives the conversation something concrete to talk about.

As the chat goes on, the partner offers gentle corrections. The example on the home page shows a learner typing "No entiendo" and getting a calm reply that explains the phrase and suggests a polite way to ask someone to repeat themselves, followed by a small correction note. A hint suggests trying one short sentence in the target language, and learners are encouraged to say when they do not understand. The site interface itself is available in about 20 languages.

You can try it before creating an account. Three messages can be sent in the browser with no account and no card, and only the messages you send count toward that allowance; replies, hints and corrections do not. Signing up saves the chat, keeps a conversation history and adds a "words seen" counter, which the site is careful to describe as a measure of exposure to words, not mastery.

Free use is limited. Paid plans are priced in euros: Plus at €4.99 a month or €39.99 a year, with 100 messages a day, 10 personas, 30-day history and a personalized weekly plan, and Pro at €9.99 a month or €79.99 a year, with up to 300 messages a day and 180-day memory.

For homeschool families, Learn Lang fits best as extra practice for a teen or adult who already has some basics from a course or curriculum and wants low-pressure chances to use the language. It is an open-ended AI chat rather than a structured course, so it suits older students, and parents of high schoolers may want to look over a few conversations together at the start. It works alongside a teacher or course rather than replacing one.
