Happy Clarinet Fingering Chart
Happy Clarinet is a free reference site for beginners on the standard B-flat soprano clarinet with the Boehm key system, the instrument most school band students play. There is no account or email required.
The center of the site is a fingering chart for 33 written notes, from low E3 up to C6. Pick a note and the site shows which holes and keys are covered or open, with the thumb hole and register key always drawn separately, along with the note on the staff. Because the clarinet is a transposing instrument, each note shows both its written pitch and the concert pitch it actually sounds, and a button plays a synthetic reference tone so a student can check whether they are in tune. The site is clear that this tone is a reference, not a clarinet recording.
Beyond the chart, there are pages for 12 major scales with written and concert keys, three easy melodies with letter names and a printable score, and single-note guides for notes that beginners often find tricky, such as G sharp and high C. A methodology page explains how the basic fingerings were cross-checked against sources.
The full chart can be printed as four portrait pages on US Letter or A4 paper for a music stand, which is handy for practice away from a screen.
Happy Clarinet suits beginning band students, homeschool families adding instrumental music, and parents who do not play the clarinet themselves but want to help their child check a fingering at home. It is a reference to support lessons or a method book, not a full course.
