7th - High School

Geography is the study of the spatial distribution of physical and cultural features, including the interaction between the physical characteristics of a place and human endeavor. These physical and cultural features affect the global similarities and differences in economic, political and social activities. This course gives students basic knowledge about the major geographic regions, particularly as it relates to contemporary developments.

In this subject students read and interpret maps and various types of graphs and charts and apply the knowledge and concepts they have learned to explain historical and contemporary developments in regions around the world. This they do through writing both short responses and longer essays, including compare and contrast, cause and effect, descriptive and position essays.

There are 9 examinations in World Geography.
