Elective Unit Studies: The Orchestra

In this 128 page unit study, your children will explore much more than the orchestra! This unit study takes your child on a journey through the symphony to learn about the conductor, the string instruments, the wind instruments, the rhythm instruments, the music of the orchestra and more! Children will build their own instruments and explore human hearing, sound waves, and acoustics. While on their journey, children will also meet professional conductors and musicians while they explore emotions in art, cross cultural instrument “relatives,” a Stradivarius violin, nonverbal communication, film music, symphonic movements, and even music critics!
