Calculus: Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic (AP Edition)
Calculus: Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic is the AP Calculus text by Finney, Demana, Waits and Kennedy. Savvas Learning Company, which took over Pearson's K-12 programs, now publishes it as an AP Edition (6th edition, copyright 2020).
The book is structured to prepare students for the Calculus AB or BC AP exam. Students work with functions represented graphically, numerically, analytically and verbally, and the course stresses how those representations connect. Multiple-choice questions use four options and free-response questions follow the style of the AP exam. Some problems ask students to work without a graphing calculator when one is not needed.
This edition expands the treatment of the derivative as a measure of sensitivity, strengthens the use of point-slope form to support local linearity, and adds new chapter-opener questions and Reasoning with Definitions and Theorems exercises. Review exercises work for independent practice or discussion, and teachers can assign homework, quizzes and tests online with automatic grading.
It is sold to schools and districts through Savvas Learning Company, which took over Pearson's K-12 programs. There is no consumer homeschool bundle on the Savvas site, so families buying for home use should contact Savvas or look for the student and teacher editions through used-curriculum sellers.
