About Building Construction

Building construction is the process of adding structure to real property. Construction starts with planning, design, and financing and continues until the project is built and ready for use.

Construction can be classified into two categories: Commercial and Residential. Commercial construction is typically larger in scale and scope than residential construction, and often involves more complex design and engineering. Residential construction, on the other hand, is usually simpler and smaller in scale.

The construction process can be further divided into four major phases:

  1. Pre-Construction: This phase includes the initial planning and design of the project. It also includes securing the necessary financing and permits.
  2. Construction: This is the phase where the actual work of building the project takes place.
  3. Post-Construction: This phase includes the final inspections and completion of the project.
  4. Maintenance: This phase includes regular upkeep and repairs of the project.

The construction phase is further divided into five phases:

  1. Foundation: The foundation is the most important part of the building. The foundation is the part of the building that supports the weight of the building.
  2. Walls: The walls are the next part of the building. The walls are the part of the building that hold up the roof.
  3. Floors: The floors are the next part of the building. The floors are the part of the building that people walk on.
  4. Ceilings: The ceilings are the next part of the building. The ceilings are the part of the building that keep the heat in.
  5. Roof: The roof is the last part of the building. The roof is the part of the building that protects the building from the weather.
