AP Biology

AP Biology is an introductory college-level biology course. Students cultivate their understanding of biology through inquiry-based investigations as they explore the following topics: biochemistry, cell biology, cell communication, cell cycle, ecology, energy, evolution, genetics, information transfer, metabolism, molecular biology, redox reactions, and water. The course culminates in an exam administered by the College Board.

The course is typically designed for students who have already taken a rigorous high school biology course and are interested in pursuing a career in the sciences. The course covers the same topics as a traditional college biology course, but at a more advanced level. The course is typically offered as a one-semester or two-semester course.
