myWorld Interactive: World Geography

myWorld Interactive: World Geography is a middle school world geography curriculum from Savvas Learning Company, the publisher that took over Pearson's K-12 programs. It comes as separate Eastern Hemisphere and Western Hemisphere editions or as a combined World Geography edition.

The course is inquiry-based and covers real-world geographical, cultural and environmental issues. Students work in an Active Journal built around each lesson's essential question, and lesson-ending Quest projects ask them to research and present on complex scenario questions; one example Savvas gives is whether the Nigerian oil industry benefits the country as a whole.

Lesson text includes pre-reading support and scaffolding so students can read independently, and the program builds social studies and ELA skills together. Topic review resources support state standards, the course is aligned to the C3 Framework, and teachers can tailor activity paths for individual students or the whole class.

It is sold to schools and districts through Savvas Learning Company, which took over Pearson's K-12 programs. There is no consumer homeschool bundle on the Savvas site, so families buying for home use should contact Savvas or look for the student and teacher editions through used-curriculum sellers.
