This course is designed to educate young teens on the addictive quality of tobacco and the harmful effects on the body so that they are more likely to resist it.

Students will discuss the poisonous chemicals found in tobacco and will learn about the addictive nature of nicotine. The short and long-terms effects of tobacco on the body will be explored, with an emphasis on the respiratory and circulatory systems. In addition, marketing strategies used by tobacco companies will be revealed to students to increase their awareness of consumer traps.
