Business Math

Business Math is a full-unit course with many practical applications to daily life in both personal and business settings. The first half of the course, in which students do 3 examinations, deepens the student’s understanding of concepts such as using checking and savings accounts and credit cards, keeping good financial records, and dealing with loans for homes and vehicles. The second half of the course, in which students do 2 examinations and 1 project, takes students through starting and running a business of their own. Students work on projects dealing with depreciation, insurance, employee payroll handling, business inventory management, and marketing and growing a business.
