Thrive in the digital economy and earn 15 credits towards an MBA
Whether you work in a micro business, a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) or a large firm, it’s vital to get to grips with new technologies and understand the impact they could have on your operations, sales and long-term success.

With The Digital Economy program from The Open University Business School, you can do just that. You’ll discover how four key business areas are changing in today’s digital economy.

Accessible on desktop, tablet or mobile and delivered in bite-sized chunks, the four online courses in this program provide a flexible way to enhance your business, management and marketing skills, and demonstrate your continuing professional development (CPD).

Holders of FutureLearn Certificates of Achievement for all four Digital Economy courses can earn 15 UK credits towards The Open University Business School’s flexible MBA by passing a linked Open University assessment course (requiring separate OU registration and fee). Find further information about OU registration, the assessment module in this program and your eligibility, as well as our MBA, in the entry requirements. The Open University does not operate in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. This means that Learners based in those countries will not be able to convert their participation in this Program to Open University course credits.

About The Open University

Our mission is to make learning accessible to all, and together we’ve already helped over 2 million students to realise their ambitions.

The OU teaches through its own unique method of distance learning, called ‘supported open learning’, which is:

  • Flexible – students work where and when they choose to fit in with jobs, families and other commitments
  • All-inclusive – students get all the high quality materials they need to study
  • Supportive – personal tutors provide academic expertise, guidance and feedback and run group tutorials; and specialist advisers are on hand to help with other aspects of OU study
  • Social – students get together at tutorials, day schools and informal study groups; and through online conferencing, study networks and course forums.

Our modules are developed by multi-disciplinary course teams comprising:

  • Academics, educational technologists and media specialists contributing pedagogic and technical expertise
  • Respected academics from other universities working alongside OU colleagues
  • External examiners.

This model has helped to build the University's reputation for innovation, rigour and quality and has been adopted by distance teaching institutions worldwide.
