About Meditation

There are many different types of meditation, but the goal of each is to quiet the mind and encourage a state of mindfulness or focus. In order to learn meditation, it is important to find a comfortable place to sit or recline in. Once you are settled, you can begin to focus on your breath, letting your thoughts come and go without judgment or attachment. Over time, with regular practice, you will find that it becomes easier to still the mind and focus on the present moment.

Mindfulness meditation, a form of meditative practice that involves focusing one's attention on the present moment, is widely practiced in the West and has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental and physical health conditions.
