About Kindergarten Curriculum

Kindergarten is a time for your child to explore and learn. The kindergarten curriculum focuses on the whole child, which means that your child will be learning through play and hands-on activities. In addition to learning the basics, such as letters and numbers, your child will also be exposed to science, social studies, and art. By the end of kindergarten, your child should be able to:

  • recite the alphabet and count to 100
  • recognize and name basic shapes
  • write their name and simple words
  • retell simple stories
  • follow simple instructions
  • ask and answer basic questions
  • share with others and take turns
  • express their feelings in appropriate ways
  • listen to and respect the ideas of others
  • show an interest in exploring the world around them

The goal of the Kindergarten curriculum is to provide a foundation on which students can build as they move on to the more advanced levels of schooling.
