Force and motion are central topics in physics. They describe the fundamental behavior of matter and energy in the universe. An object's position, velocity, and acceleration are determined by the forces acting on it. These forces can be caused by contact (such as friction or air resistance), or they can be the result of an object's interactions with a field (such as gravity or electricity).
